Vitiligo

Vitiligo is a skin condition in which the skin loses its natural pigment, leading to the development of white patches on different parts of the body. It occurs when the pigment-producing cells (melanocytes) stop functioning or are destroyed. These patches commonly appear on the face, hands, arms, feet, and around body openings. Although vitiligo is not contagious or life-threatening, early dermatological care can help slow its progression and improve the appearance of the skin.

Common Signs & Symptoms
  • White or depigmented patches on the skin
  • Early greying of hair on the scalp, eyebrows, or beard
  • Patches that gradually increase in size
Diagnosis & Treatment

Vitiligo is diagnosed through a detailed skin examination by a dermatologist. Treatment focuses on controlling the spread of patches, restoring pigmentation where possible, and improving overall skin appearance. A personalized treatment plan is created depending on the severity and location of the condition.
